As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it is worth remembering that time flows on without a break, but we humans need milestones. We need moments like this one to pause, plan, remember, and make sense of our lives.
We love the feeling of a fresh start that a new year brings. Yet the truth is that tomorrow will still look a lot like today. The weather, the struggles, the responsibilities, the circumstances, none of them magically transform just because the calendar turned. If we want the new year to be better, the change has to begin inside us.
As I look back on the journey so far, I am grateful for the experiences and lessons the past year handed me. It added important chapters to my life. Now I welcome the new year with open arms and high hopes, asking the Lord for wisdom to make decisions that line up with His heart.
It is also worth remembering that God does not schedule His blessings around our calendars. He does not wait for a new year to begin His work in us, and He is not bound by the “year of _______” trends we hear so often. His grace and His mercies are new every morning. God Himself never changes: yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever.
So as we step into this new year, I send my best wishes to everyone pursuing growth, courage, diligence, service, excellence, and a deeper connection with God.
