Unearth Your Faith

What do you want to accomplish in life? Do you have a plan for turning your ideas into reality? Maybe it is finishing your studies, meeting your future spouse, launching a business, learning a new language, or making a hard decision that only you truly understand.

Where do you want to go? And what are you waiting for before you finally start moving?

It is possible to begin with ambitious dreams and still spend years putting off the decisions they require. By the time we look back, the enthusiasm that once moved us may have given way to frustration over how little we did with it.

How are your dreams doing? Where are the words God once spoke into your life? Please do not tell me they are buried in the cemetery of good intentions.

Could it be that your faith has gone stagnant? The Bible tells us that faith without works is dead, and maybe that is the root of it: fear has kept your faith in the planning stage. If we let it, that fear can keep us postponing decisions until we give up on dreams that still had life in them.

It is disheartening to hear the popular idea that if something turns into “an uphill battle,” it must not be God’s will. That mindset makes a convenient excuse to avoid effort. It lets us dodge our responsibility while expecting God to do everything, even the steps He has asked us to take.

That was the mindset of the ten spies. They could not imagine that God’s will might include giants and fortified cities. So whose voice will you listen to? The ones that cry “no” every time a challenge appears? Or the ones who knew their God and answered with courage?

It is time to wake up. Resurrect the dreams and goals that have been lying dormant. Bring your faith back to life, not just with words and good intentions, but with real, courageous action.

Trust God enough to step into the land He has promised.
